Three-time national championship coach Urban Meyer will return to the Ohio State campus next month as part of the football program’s annual coaching clinic.
Former Buckeye head coaches Jim Tressel and John Cooper will also attend, along with former quarterback Kirk Herbstreit, and current Kentucky Wildcats coach Mark Stoops. The clinic will be held April 15th through 17th.
This would be Meyer’s first return to Ohio State’s campus in an official capacity since leaving his off-the-field role with the university to pursue a job with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021. He has since returned to campus numerous times last season as part of Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff crew.
The CFB world was quick to react to the news:
Maybe Day should bring Urban back to motivate a win against wolverines! Not lose 2 in a row.

Despite the controversy to his exit, Meyer remains one of the most legendary coaches in program history. After stints with the Bowling Green Falcons, Utah Utes, and Florida Gators, Meyer returned to his home-state of Ohio to lead the Buckeyes in 2012 after their worst season in 50 years under then-interim head coach Luke Fickell.
Meyer promptly led the Buckeyes to an undefeated season, though they missed the BCS Championship due to sanctions from a previous scandal under Tressel, who resigned as head coach in the spring of 2011.
Meyer entered program lore by winning the 2014 national championship, the first in the College Football Era, and by maintaining a 7-0 record against the arch-rival Michigan Wolverines.
