The South Dakota Coyotes pulled off a miracle to take down the South Dakota State Jackrabbits 23-20 on Saturday.
It appeared that the Jackrabbits would run out the clock on the previous drive. South Dakota State had 4th-and-1 with eight seconds remaining, and instead of trying to get one yard to lock up a victory, they chose to have quarterback Chris Oladokun run back several yards before just heaving a deep pass out of bounds as a tactic to run the clock.
However, there was still one second remaining on the turnover-on-downs. And one second was all South Dakota needed to score an absolutely incredible touchdown.
Now, the play took quite a bit of luck- even more than the usual hail mary. South Dakota was 57 yards from the end zone, and the pass went to roughly the five-yard line. However, the pass was tipped twice by Jackrabbits defenders, before finally landing in the hands of Caleb Vander Esch, who tumbled into the end zone from the one-yard line for a game-winning score.

South Dakota State entered this game ranked No. 7 in FCS (after a win over North Dakota State last week), while South Dakota was ranked No. 17.
