The Oklahoma Sooners are back-to-back NCAA Gymnastics Champions.
On Saturday, the Sooners won the NCAA Gymnastics title after piecing together a fantastic title-winning effort. OU won in a dominant fashion with a score of 198.3875.
The title is the second consecutive for Oklahoma and its sixth title in the last nine years.
The Sooners are a titan in gymnastics. This appearance in the National Championships was the program’s 12th. Head coach K.J. Kindler has built a powerhouse since 2014, as she has presided over all six National Titles the program has won.
Star gymnast Olivia Trautman took much of the spotlight on Saturday. She absolutely nailed her vault performance and stuck the landing. As ESPNW pointed out, she proved why she’s a National Champion gymnast.
Oklahoma received plenty of support from onlookers in and around Norman.
The University of Oklahoma Twitter account congratulated the team.
The Utah Gymnastics team, who competed on Saturday as well, passed congratulations on to OU.
The Sooners Athletics Twitter account also boasted about the big win.
Of course, several OU fans and teams chimed in with that iconic word… “BOOMER!”
The team updated their bio to show off their latest title and made sure to let everyone know about it as well.
And by the event’s end it was party time!
