Earlier this year, Alabama head coach Nick Saban and Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders, had a brief but public feud after Saban accused Jackson State of buying recruits with money from name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals.
“Jackson State paid a guy a million dollars last year that was a really good Division I player to come to school,” Saban said at a booster’s banquet. “It was in the paper. They bragged about it! Nobody did anything about it.”
Sanders responded to Saban’s comments on Twitter, saying “I don’t even make a million! Lolololol.”
But a couple of months later, it appears that the two have squashed the beef as Sanders shared a video on his Instagram account of him and Saban together behind the scenes of a commercial for Aflac, an insurance brand for which they are both sponsors.
In the video, the pair cracked a series of jokes before text appeared that said “2 GOATS, 1 DUCK, NO BEEF.”
Sanders made it clear that he felt no ill will towards Saban shortly after the comments, saying he believed the Alabama coach was simply using him as a pawn to make a point to his own boosters.
But the video certainly helps confirm that the two are on good terms.
