The college football season is just getting underway, but we won’t see many catches this season better than one made by Minnesota wide receiver Rashod Bateman on Thursday night at TCF Bank Stadium.
With the Golden Gophers and South Dakota State tied 7-7 in the second quarter, Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan threw a bomb down the sideline, and Bateman snagged it with just one hand for a 42-yard touchdown.
Bateman made that look way too easy while sprinting 40 yards downfield.
And it was a huge play for Minnesota, with the Jackrabbits threatening to pull off a huge upset. South Dakota State took a 21-20 lead into the fourth quarter, but Minnesota was able to come away with a 28-21 victory.
