Tonight is the President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union, and there will be a special guest attending the event.
Michigan Representative Justin Amash announced on Twitter yesterday that he’d be bringing University of Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh to the iconic event. Amash is a University of Michigan alum, so bringing the man with the $8 khakis makes some sense.
Harbaugh won’t be the only college football star to appear at the event, as Tennessee Representative Jim Cooper invited Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds to the event, which he accepted.
Other guests who will also be appearing include Syrian refugee Refaai Hamo, Staff Sgt. Spencer Stone, who stopped a terrorist attack on a Paris-bound train, and Edith Childs, who created the 2008 Obama campaign slogan “fired up, ready to go!” Here’s a full list of the Obama family’ guests.
Not every guest is a hero, sports figure, or slogan creationist, as Kim Davis, the county clerk who spent time in jail after refusing to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple will also be at the event.
You can find a live stream at the White House’s official website, and the event will also be aired on all major broadcast networks. It starts at 9 PM.
