In his seven seasons as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh has accomplished a lot. But one thing he has yet to do is defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Harbaugh is the only Michigan coach to lose all of his first five games against the Buckeyes. Meanwhile, Michigan has lost eight straight to its Big Ten nemesis and 15 of the last 16 overall. The implications could not be bigger for Michigan, especially since the winner of this game will be in the driver’s seat to play for the Big Ten title and perhaps make the College Football Playoff.
So you better believe that Harbaugh and the Michigan players have had this game circled all season long. And according to the head coach, they’re feeling pretty good about their chances.
“I see it in their eyes. I hear it in their voices,” said Harbaugh. “We’re all feeding off of each other like that. I look at them, it feels like I’m looking in the mirror. I’m seeing the same confidence in them that I feel inside of me.”
The Wolverines are 10-1 heading into this game and they’ll be hosting the 10-1 Buckeyes. While Ohio State, who just trounced Michigan State (who beat Michigan), is favored by a touchdown, there’s no time like the present for Harbaugh and his legacy.
Does the college football world believe that this year will be different from the previous ones? Everyone seems to have a different opinion…

We talked about this on the pod we just recorded, something about this team feels different. Ohio State is a juggernaut so will that translate to a win Saturday, who knows, but you have to think the team in that Wolverines locker room believes they can win. https://t.co/ucPeZ8SrA9

Saturday is either going to be one of the biggest days in modern Michigan football history or it’s going to be the latest in a long line of Ohio State victories. We’ll find out for sure on Saturday at noon.
