The No. 11 Iowa State Cyclones came away with a 51-47 win over the No. 25 Texas Tech Red Raiders in Big 12 play on Wednesday in Ames (despite scoring only 21 points in the second half). And the ending featured one heck of a bad beat.
Iowa State entered this game as anywhere from 4.5 to 5.5-point favorites depending on the sportsbook, and they had a seven-point lead after making a free throw with 4.3 seconds remaining.
So, this game was over for all intents and purposes. However, Texas Tech decided to throw up a long three-pointer that was meaningless for the game result, but significant to some.
Texas Tech’s Adonis Arms banked in a logo three to beat the buzzer and make it a four-point loss instead of a seven-point loss- completely swinging the point spread.

Even the Texas Tech radio crew was aware of what that seemingly meaningless three-pointer meant.
Iowa State improves to 11-1 with the victory (with their only loss being against No. 1 Baylor), while Texas Tech falls to 10-3 on the season.
