Ohio State’s Kyle Snyder is the world’s best wrestler, but he wasn’t for one match on Sunday against the Buckeyes’ biggest rival.
Snyder — the youngest gold medalist in Olympic history after winning in Rio — lost to Michigan’s Adam Coon, the No. 2 wrestler in the nation.
That’s Snyder’s first loss since his freshman year in 2015. He won the last two national titles (as you’d probably gather from the undefeated record in that time). It’s certainly worth noting that Coon had a 65-pound weight advantage as well.
Even with Snyder going down, Ohio State still came away with the team victory over the Wolverines, 18-15.
