Cal State Fullerton freshman Jace Chamberlin just became college baseball’s favorite large adult son.
Appropriately nicknamed “Jumbo,” the big fella had the biggest swing of his life on Saturday night in Cal State Fullerton’s NCAA Tournament game against No. 2 Stanford.
With two outs in the bottom of the ninth and the game tied 1-1, Chamberlin crushed a pitch off the Stanford scoreboard in right-center for a dinger to give the Titans a walk-off victory. And it’s the first homer of Jumbo’s young college career:
Jumbo said he was so excited that he just “blacked out” in the moment.
The Titans move on to the Stanford Regional championship game with the victory. We could see Jumbo hitting bombs in Omaha in the College World Series soon.
