On Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide softball team fought tooth and nail with the Ole Miss Rebels. Down 1-0, the Tide sought a hero, and Jenna Johnson emerged.
Johnson belted a go-ahead three-run blast that sent Alabama into a frenzy! The 14th-ranked Tide later ripped a win away from the upset-minded Rebels in Oxford.
“Tide on top!” the Alabama Softball team excitedly exclaimed on Twitter.
The Tennessee Volunteers secured the SEC regular season championship, but that doesn’t mean the Crimson Tide should be overlooked. Or, as they said, that they should be counted out.
“Count us out at your own risk,” they tweeted.
Alabama softball will be in the thick of it again this coming May. The SEC Tournament looms, and then the NCAA Tournament will follow with much excitement. Alabama showed why they would be a tough out this summer and why they are one of the best programs in the nation with the come-from-behind win.
The Crimson Tide are 38-16 on the season with a 14-9 record in conference. They’ve won their last three games and four of the last five.
Alabama will aim for their second SEC Tournament title in the last three seasons. Mizzou stunned them last season in a 7-2 upset, as the Tigers went on to the final. Alabama will look to avenge that next week.
The college softball world reacted to the epic go-ahead homer.
