Brian Kelly left Notre Dame to become the LSU head football coach earlier this week, and on Wednesday night, he made a welcome speech in Baton Rouge for the LSU basketball game vs Ohio.
And for that speech, Kelly — who grew up in the northeast and has spent the last many years in the midwest — brought out a southern accent.
Well, that’s certainly an interesting choice, and one Twitter user got their wish.
Amazing.
Here’s just a sampling of how the college football world is reacting to Kelly’s fake southern accent:

Brian Kelly was born and raised in Massachusetts. He has lived in three states as an adult: Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. He has no idea how to speak in a Southern accent, but his best guess is saying "family" like "faymlay." https://t.co/2t7kCR8TfB
