The Wisconsin Badgers came into Sunday with at least a share of the Big Ten regular-season title and their sights set on winning a Big Ten Tournament championship and potentially earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers decided to throw a wrench in those plans. The Huskers, who came into the tournament with a 10-21 record and 4-16 conference record, shocked the 24-6 Badgers with a 74-73 win in the season finale for both squads. Considering it was also Senior Day at home for the Badgers, it’s quite the disappointing finish to the season.
Nebraska!
The Cornhuskers go on the road and shock No. 10 Wisconsin.

Nebraska, the worst team in the Big Ten, just won at Wisconsin, the top team in the Big Ten.
Nevermind the Huskers were without their leading scorer. OR that they had 10 team fouls with 13:40 left. OR that Wisconsin celebrated Senior Day.

It’s a particularly bad finish for Wisconsin considering Nebraska was without its leading scorer and had already hit 10 team fouls with more than 13 minutes left in the game. They also lost Johnny Davis to an injury during the game and his status could be in doubt for the Big Ten Tournament.
For Nebraska, it’s their first win over a Top Ten opponent since 2014. While it’s unlikely they’ll be able to make too much noise in the conference tournament, a win like this could take a lot of positive momentum into the offseason and recruiting.
Now, Wisconsin has to wait and see how the Big Ten regular season will shake out and whether or not they’ll get the No. 1 seed in the BTT. But in the meantime, there is a lot to say about the Badgers’ big loss on Sunday and what it could mean moving forward.
Me: Man, Wisconsin-Michigan in the quarterfinals will be great!

Wisconsin just lost at home to Nebraska.
As I have said over and over, Badgers might not be an NIT team without Johnny Davis — and Wisconsin did not have the NPOY candidate for the final 17:34 after he suffered lower body injury.
And they just lost to a 9-21 team.

Wisconsin losing to Nebraska on senior day at home with an outright big ten title on the line is objectively even funnier than the objectively funny Duke getting blown out at home by UNC on K night
