After being one of the breakout stars of March Madness, Doug Edert has a new team and school to play for.
Shortly after the thrilling run of Saint Peter’s came to an end in the Elite Eight, Edert announced that he was entering the transfer portal. On Saturday, it was announced that Edert is going to Bryant University.
The Bulldogs were 22-10 during the 2021-22 season. They finished the regular season in first place in the Northeast Conference, then won the conference tournament, routing Wagner in the championship game that featured a brawl at the end. Bryant’s season ended in the NCAA Tournament with a 93-82 loss to Wright State in the First Four.
Given that Edert is leaving one NCAA Tournament team for another, college basketball fans felt that Edert will do well in his new home.
Edert’s a great fit for Grasso because he not only fills that elite shooting need, but Edert is a team guy who doesn’t need to score 15+ ppg to be happy. And the soon-to-be senior has proven he’s unafraid and clutch in the big moment. He won’t get sped up at Vermont. https://t.co/0ybKBUteBp

During the NCAA Tournament, Edert averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
His play, his mustachioed appearance and his team’s rise to fame gained Edert a lot of popularity during March Madness. Edert took full advantage of that popularity, sigining an NIL deal and doing Cameo appearances.
On a strong team with a talented group of new teammates, Edert will have even more opportunity to thrive at Bryant. It should be fun to see what happens with him next season.
