It all started with a tweet.

On Monday morning, Butler head coach LaVall Jordan tweeted that his school was looking for a home and home series. He tagged Florida head coach Mike White in the tweet, gauging his interest in the series.

Somewhat surprisingly (almost as if this was pre-planned….), White responded in the affirmative, and proposed that Butler visit Gainesville later this year and the Gators travel to Indianapolis next season.

Jordan seemed amenable to the terms, and said he would have a contract prepared.

Did the two coaches scheme up this idea? Probably, given that just three minutes after Jordan’s tweet, Butler’s men’s basketball account tweeted out the news.

Florida also confirmed the news a bit later.

Alright, so maybe the game wasn’t actually agreed to on Twitter and discussions had been ongoing for awhile now.
