One of the most notable coaching searches this year has come from the Auburn Tigers, who spent $21.45 million on firing and buying out Gus Malzahn. After a lot of discussion over who Auburn would turn to next, ranging from defensive coordinator Kevin Steele to the likes of Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze, it now looks like they’ve settled on Boise State’s Bryan Harsin (seen above lifting the 2019 Mountain West conference trophy):

It’s certainly notable to see Harsin jump to Auburn. He had served as Boise State’s head coach since 2014 and led the Broncos to a 69-19 mark in that time. And while he wasn’t someone frequently mentioned in the initial discussions of who might step in for Malzahn at Auburn, he certainly has significant credentials from his time with the Broncos. We’ll see how this move works out for him.
