After a reportedly positive third visit to Georgia, Arch Manning is now set to make his third visit to the Bulldogs National Championship opponent.
Koki Riley of The Tuscaloosa News reported that Manning — the top-ranked player in the Class of 2023 (per 247sports) — has a third visit scheduled for both Texas and Alabama. The third trip to Texas was known. The third trip to Alabama was not.
“Manning will visit Texas for a third time this weekend and Alabama for a third time next weekend,” Riley reported. “He visited Georgia, also for a third time, last weekend. Manning attended a game at each school last fall.”
In addition to his three visits to Alabama, Georgia, and Texas, Riley noted that Manning has also made visits to Clemson, Ole Miss, LSU, and SMU.
Arch’s father Cooper went to Ole Miss, though his football career was ended due to an injury. His grandfather Archie and Uncle Eli also both went to Mississippi. Arch’s uncle Peyton, meanwhile, went to Tennessee. So, the Manning family has a long history in the SEC.
While Georgia is the reigning national champion, Alabama has been college football’s top program for well over a decade, having won six national championships since 2009.
The idea of the nation’s top recruit from such a famous football family going to the top program in the country had people buzzing.
If Manning did go to the Crimson Tide, national championships would become even more even more the standard in Alabama than they already are.
