It’s Friday the 13th, and crazy shit is happening in the college football world. We’ve already had one top-10 team go down tonight with Syracuse’s stunning upset of No. 2 Clemson, and we could have another one go down in the latest edition of #PAC12AfterDark.

The Cal Golden Bears — 16.5-point underdogs — lead No. 8 Washington State 17-3 in the third quarter in Berkeley. And Cal needed literally the last second of the first half to score their second touchdown.

Check out this gutsy — and wise — call by head coach Justin Wilcox to go for it at the one-yard line, rather than settle for a lame field goal:

Wazzu then had a good drive into Cal territory early in the third quarter…. until quarterback Luke Falk “threw” an interception on a shovel pass.

Mike Leach’s Wazzu squad has four turnovers in eight possessions, while Cal has no turnovers. That’s the perfect recipe for an upset, and the Cougars will have to quickly turn things around to avoid a loss they can’t have in order to make a run at the College Football Playoff.

Update: Cal indeed pulled off the upset in VERY convincing fashion, with a 37-3 win. And they had a Play of the Year contender in the second half.
