As we all pretty much assumed would probably happen, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs will have a rematch in the College Football Playoff National Championship to determine college football’s national champion.
The Crimson Tide dispatched with previously unbeaten Cincinnati 27-6 earlier in the day in the Cotton Bowl and Georgia completely dominated the Michigan Wolverines 34-11 in the Orange Bowl.
The two SEC squads met on December 4 in the SEC Championship Game, which was won by Alabama, 41-24. Now, they’ll rematch at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Jan. 10, 2022, to determine who walks away with the title. No matter who wins, it means that the SEC will be guaranteed its third straight national title and 12th champion in 16 years. Alabama has won seven of those titles since 2009, having defeated Georgia in the 2018 title game.
Despite the fact that Alabama was the No. 1 seed heading into the CFP and they previously beat the Bulldogs, Georgia emerged as the early favorite from oddsmakers, surprising many. Georgia opens as a 2.5-point favorite over the Tide, who are not used to being an underdog (even they like to say they are).
Some places also had Georgia favored by slightly less.

Regardless, the fact that so many oddsmakers have the Bulldogs favored over mighty Alabama has a lot of people doing a double-take.
Uh oh, is that Bama disrespect we hear? https://t.co/DJmYCI8i3n

Things I didn't understand in 2021 now include how Georgia can now be favored over Ala???

Whatever the reason for favoring Georgia, we’re sure Nick Saban is happy for the rat poison, Vegas.
