Dwyane Wade had a great game Wednesday night, scoring a team-high 26 points and adding 11 rebounds and nine assists, while getting to the free-throw line 10 times.
But the rest of Wade’s Bulls teammates didn’t do their part, combining for only 71 points among the 11 of them, and Chicago lost to Boston 108-97. The Bulls are now down 3-2 in the series, and a highly dysfunctional season is one game from ending.
Wade is a future Hall-of-Famer, but he’s now 35 years old, and his numbers dropped off this season. And you have to imagine he’s a bit worn down from repeated clashes with teammates (cough cough, Rondo).
So we can’t blame him too much for this impressively awful display of “defense” during the second quarter Wednesday.

Close out on the shooter? Nah. Box out on the rebound? Nah. Contest the put-back? Nah.
We also can’t really blame Wade for being unhappy about the lack of warm water in the visitors’ showers.
Wade just informed teammates there's no hot water for showers in visiting locker room.

The Bulls season will soon be over, at which point Wade will be able to take a nice ice bath and enjoy being Dwyane Wade. And maybe the Bulls will be able to trade Rondo in the offseason.
Hang in there, D-Wade. It’ll be OK.
