Widely projected to be selected by whichever of the league’s 30 teams wins this year’s draft lottery, France’s Victor Wembanyama is the NBA draft’s top prospect for 2023.

The 7-foot-4 super prospect is one of a kind; something the league has never seen before. Between his unique blend of size, length and athleticism, Wembanyama is a unicorn, who NBA teams have been patiently waiting for to become draft eligible.

Each new fact revealed about the Paris-based prospect draws the amazement of basketball fans around the globe. It was recently revealed by NBA insiders Brian Windhorst and Jonathan Givony of ESPN that Wembanyama is now 7-foot-5 while wearing shoes. Their colleague, Adrian Wojanorwksi, has also previously referred to Wembanyama as the “singular greatest prospect in NBA draft history.”

Being four inches taller than Shaquille O’Neal is quite the feat. For comparison’s sake, Wembanyama’s Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 teammate, Tremont Waters (No. 51 in the above photo) is listed at 5-foot-10. The photo choice shows just how tall Wembanyama is and it’s likely that the French-born superstar isn’t done growing.

The NBA world reacted to the insane news that detailed Wembanyama’s alleged size in shoes. Though, a lot of fans seemed to raise concerns about how his frame could lead to potential injuries down the road, comparing him to the likes of Zion Williamson.
