The Minnesota Timberwolves took down the Oklahoma City Thunder 138-101 on Friday night, even with some great defense from the Thunder’s clean-up crew at Paycom Center.
In the third quarter, Minnesota’s Jordan McLaughlin got a steal and had an easy layup coming in transition- or so it appeared.
Two members of the arena’s clean-up crew were mopping the court while McLaughin came sprinting toward the hoop, and he ran right into one of them, leading to a missed layup. Minnesota missed a putback attempt and Oklahoma City then headed the other way in transition.
The Timberwolves announcers for Bally Sports North couldn’t believe that play was allowed to continue on:
The best defense we’ve seen from Oklahoma City all season.
Everybody can laugh about it now, but imagine if the T-Wolves lost by one or two points (then again, they’d only have themselves to blame vs a 20-43 Thunder team.).
