The Oklahoma City Thunder came away with a 139-127 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night, and things looked pretty bleak for the Thunder with just one second remaining in regulation.
With 1.1 second(s) remaining and the T-Wolves up 121-119, Minnesota’s Jordan Bell was called for a technical foul after the Thunder’s Chris Paul pointed out that Bell’s jersey was untucked while subbing in with Karl-Anthony Towns at the free throw line.

Danilo Gallinari then made a free throw for the Thunder, before Towns made his free throw at the other end. And then Thunder center Steven Adams made a Patrick Mahomes-esque full-court pass which Dennis Schroder turned into a game-tying layup to beat the buzzer.
An excellent play by the Thunder, but also some rough defense by the T-Wolves. But that tied the game, and Oklahoma City carried the momentum over to overtime, where they pummeled Minnesota 17-5 in the five-minute extra period. For the first time in franchise history, the Thunder got at least 20 points from five different players: Paul (30), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (29), Schroder (25), Adams (22), and Gallinari (21).
The Thunder and Timberwolves are currently in a fight for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, with Minnesota (10-11) holding a one-game lead over Oklahoma City (9-12) for the eighth seed after Friday night’s result.
