The Golden State Warriors lost a tough game Tuesday to the Sacramento Kings, 124-123.
Tough mainly because it was one Golden State should have won, but alas, that wasn’t the case.
The defeat left head coach Steve Kerr tossing and turning at night — much to his wife’s dismay.
“I got home from Sacramento. I’m up for a while. I’m thinking about everything. I get into bed, and [I’m] tossing and turning,” Kerr told KNBR on Wednesday.
“It’s probably two o’clock in the morning, and Margot wakes up and goes, ‘Jesus, it’s only November. Would you just relax?’” Kerr added. “And I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ And she goes, ‘All I can hear are these heavy sighs, tossing and turning. Just go to sleep.'”
The Warriors appeared to have it figured out in the first half, when they produced a season-high 72 points. It ultimately came down to turnovers. That’s something Kerr made a focal point heading into the season.
“We’re not in a freefall,” Kerr told reporters after the game. “It’s the early part of the season, and we’re losing a bunch of close games. We can see it on tape every game. Fouling and turnovers. I can only say it so many times. Those two things have to improve. When they do, we’re going to be really good.”
