After the Boston Celtics blowout win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, many are starting to wonder if this will even be a series. And that includes Stephen A. Smith.
The Mavericks struggled throughout the game. Although he had 30 points in the Mavs loss, Luka Doncic was only 4-12 from the three-point line while Kyrie Irving only scored 12 points and was 0-5 from the three-point range. That will all have to change in the second game if the Mavs want to make this a series.
But according to Stephen A. Smith, it might already be over for the Mavs. He says if Jaylen Brown continues to set the tone as he did in game 1, the Mavs are done.
“Jaylen Brown, oh my god! Oh my god! I’m talking about a brother who set the tone with his aggression, his verbiage. He’s coming out and he’s like ‘Do y’all know who the hell I am?’ We lost in the NBA Finals I ain’t letting that happen again. I’m coming for y’all, we coming for y’all.’ You saw the team collectively feed off of him,” Smith said.
“If this continues, this ain’t going past five [games], Dallas better get their act together quick!”
Sounds like Stephen A. is sending a warning to the Mavs because Jaylen Brown, who had 22 points Thursday night, already has.
