Any thoughts of a Kevin Durant-Steph Curry reunion with the Golden State Warriors appear to have been put to rest by Curry, who says he is happy with the current roster, which also just so happens to have won another NBA title in June.
“The rumor mill and all that stuff is part of the nature of the NBA and league,” Curry said in an interview this week when asked about the possibility of Durant returning to Golden State. “You take it for what it is.
“You know how quickly things can change, but I like where we’re at.”
A few weeks ago, Durant surprised the NBA world by stating that he wanted to be traded from the Brooklyn Nets after only a few seasons with the team.
Durant wanted to lead his team to a championship, however, it has been a struggle. From injuries to trades, the Nets have yet to find their footing and make it to the NBA Finals. Now Durant wants out and many think he plans to head back out West, although nothing has happened on that front yet.
But Curry has let it be known he is fine with the current roster that includes him, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson.
“There’s a lot of optimism, a lot of energy, about where we’re going,” he said.
