Two Philadelphia 76ers fans were ejected from Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after getting into it with the Lakers’ Carmelo Anthony.
With 7:01 to go in the fourth quarter, Anthony walked over toward the stands during a stoppage in play and exchanged words with fans that were right behind courtside seats. Officials held Anthony back, and the fans were soon ejected from the Wells Fargo Center.
The fans had been shouting at Anthony for several minutes, according to the TNT broadcast.
After the game, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said that there was “unacceptable language, unacceptable behavior by fans.”
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports, one of the fans kept referring to Anthony as “boy.”
The Sixers won the game 105-87 against a Lakers team that was without LeBron James (knee soreness).
