NBA players are just like you! They find about about trades via social media and iPhone apps. And apparently that’s the case even for trades in which players themselves are involved.
According to ESPN’s Royce Young, guard Randy Foye found out he had been traded from the Denver Nuggets to the Oklahoma City Thunder via the NBA app.
Well somebody certainly messed up, whether it was the Nuggets not notifying Foye or Foye’s agent not passing on the message.
Foye is no stranger to being traded. This was the fifth time he’s been dealt in his 10-year career (two of them came the night he was drafted), but the first time he’s changed teams midseason. The Thunder will be his sixth NBA team.
You have to imagine Thursday was the first time Foye has ever learned of being traded from a league app, but who knows. Maybe next time he’ll be notified by Google Alert.
