On Tuesday night, the Detroit Pistons stunned the Denver Nuggets with a 110-108 road victory at Ball Arena. The Pistons entered the game as 12-point underdogs.
The Pistons had to follow that up with a road game on Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. Again, the Pistons were 12-point underdogs. And again, they came away victorious.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored a team-high 23 points to lead Detroit to a 125-116 win over the team he spent the past three seasons on.
The Pistons entered Tuesday with a seven-game losing streak, a 3-15 overall record, and an 0-10 record on the road. They proceeded to win consecutive games as 12-point underdogs on a back-to-back.
So the Detroit Pistons just pulled off the Rocky Mountain Back-to-Back sweep.
Nuggets last night, Utah tonight.

That’s pretty incredible, and as you’d imagine, it’s a very rare feat.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, the Pistons are just the third team in the last 20 seasons to win on back-to-back days as double-digit underdogs. The 2015 New York Knicks and 2012 Orlando Magic are the only other teams to do so over the last 20 seasons.
And Detroit did this without star second-year point guard Cade Cunningham, who’s out with a leg injury. Cunningham is second — to only Bogdanovic — on the Pistons in scoring (19.9 points per game), first in assists (6.0), and third in rebounds (6.2).
The Pistons will look to make it three consecutive upsets as 12-plus-point road underdogs when they take on the Phoenix Suns on Friday night. Detroit is currently a 12.5-point underdog.
