Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been one of the most controversial players in the NBA seemingly since entering the league. Green has been involved in numerous on-court spats and altercations, and even famously sucker-punched one of his teammates, Jordan Poole, during a practice session, ultimately leading to the unraveling of the Warriors.
Even when he isn’t involved in confrontations on the floor, Green has been known as an extremely physical player. Now, it appears the NBA has had enough of Green’s antics and erratic behavior on the court.
“I got a warning from the league the other day that I’ve been playing too aggressively. What does that mean? I don’t know. But apparently, me being in ‘go win’ mode is a problem,” Green said, according to Legion Hoops.
Fans reacted to Green’s words on social media.
“Does this dude never watch footage of himself talking to other players and officiates? I think he’s an awesome team presence but good god. Last night I watched him walk up to a ref and scream in his face, body language like he was about to throw a punch. The ref had to be stoic,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Dude doesn’t understand the line between playing hard and being a dirty player,” one fan added.
“His interpretation of aggressive and winning are clearly the problem,” added someone else.
It’ll be interesting to see if Green cleans up his behavior.
