Ever since Prince tragically passed away on April 21st, 2016, people all over the world have been working on tributes to the musician. In the state of Minnesota specifically, fans of Prince have been honoring him on what seems like a daily basis.
It’s not just fans of Prince that have honored him in Minnesota either. The Minnesota Twins held a Prince memorial night and honored him with a memorial at the stadium in the days after his death.
With the WNBA semifinals beginning on Wednesday, the Minnesota Lynx decided to honor Prince as well.
The Lynx kicked off the semifinals with a 113-95 win in game one, and Seimone Augustus and Sylvia Fowles included Prince’s logo, lyrics, and song titles on their shoes.
Kick. Game. CRAZY.

The Lynx, however, have more of a connection to Prince than most sports teams and it’s not only because they are in Minnesota. After they won the WNBA title last year, Prince showed up and gave the team a surprise three-hour concert.
After news began to spread and pictures circulated of the Lynx’s tribute to the late musician, one notable NBA player praised the Lynx for their tribute.
