The 21-time all-star has been very active this summer, working on all parts of his game, golf that is.
With his newly found love for the green, onlookers can only assume James has one foot out the door as golf and a pro athlete’s retirement plans have always been synonymous.
Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers shocked the world with the trade of star center Anthony Davis for Dallas Mavericks phenom Luka Dončić. It’s no surprise the Lakers organization looks to Dončić as the future of the team, as it’s evident their focus has been solely on him this offseason.
“Dončić has spent much of the offseason improving his comfort as a catch-and-shoot threat. The shift marks a departure from his usual on-ball, high-usage style and could prove pivotal in unlocking the Lakers’ offensive flow,” stated Anthony Irwin of Clutch Sports.
“He has also been in touch with coaches consistently this offseason to understand how they envision him impacting the game when LeBron James or Austin Reaves has the ball,” reported Irwin
As James looks to pass the reins, his presence in the golf community grows stronger,
“LeBron is a full-blown golf sicko and locked in on Team Tommy,” reported GOLF.com via Twitter
“Hey LeBron, there’s a tournament called the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country club. You can play with Scottie, Fleetwood or whoever you’d like in the Wednesday Pro am! It’s a lot of fun. It’s during a home stint and you don’t have a game that day. Feel free to come out!” said pro golfer Michael S. Kim via Twitter
It’ll be interesting to see what endeavors the King embarks on next.
