Basketball fans had a lot to say about Friday’s on-court altercation between Shannon Sharpe and some of the Memphis Grizzlies.

LeBron James said Friday night he had Shannon Sharpe’s back

Saturday, the Los Angeles Lakers star posted an NSFW message on his Instagram account to that effect.

James included a photo of an angry Sharpe, and posted the message,
“If “I Wish A M———* Would” was a person! MOOD . Unk VIBES!”

In case you missed it, Sharpe, sitting courtside at the Lakers game with the Memphis Grizzlies, got into an altercation with several Grizzlies players. The former NFL star and now FS1 host started a shouting match with Memphis guard Dillon Brooks. As the two yelled at each other across the court, Brooks’ teammates Ja Morant and Steven Adams came over to confront Sharpe. So did Morant’s father, Tee.

Security eventually escorted Sharpe away, although he later returned to his seat. Sharpe later told ESPN it all started when he told Brooks he was too small to guard James.

“He said, ‘F— me,’ I said ‘F— you back,'” Sharpe said.

James said after the Lakers win he had Sharpe’s back if needed.

Bottom line: This was not a good look for the NBA, Sharpe, or anyone else involved.
