Normally when an NBA star sits out of a game, it’s a drag for the fans in attendance. Most of the fans attending Saturday night’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors likely felt that way, with the news that LeBron James would not play. But for one young fan, it was the exact opposite.

A young girl was sitting courtside, right next to the Los Angeles bench. To her right, there was an empty seat — but not for long. Little did this fan know that the man who’d eventually be sitting next to her was none other than LeBron. When James took his seat, the girl’s reaction was worth 1,000 words.

She was later interviewed and explained that she asked for the tickets months ago, hoping that LeBron would break the all-time scoring record on Saturday. As we know now, LeBron got that done on Tuesday. After breaking the record, LeBron missed Los Angeles’ next game on Thursday with a foot injury. And when this fan found out that he’d miss Saturday’s game, as well, she was upset, not knowing if he’d even be on the building. That all changed in one moment.

“And then, when he ended up sitting down here, I’m not as tall as him obviously so I could only see like, his shoes. Then I look up and I see LeBron James. And what’s going through my mind is just like ‘Oh my God, the greatest player of all-time in basketball is sitting next to me.’ And I just freak out completely. I’m just thinking, ‘Oh my goodness, this is like the best moment of my life.'”

Her reaction went viral and got a lot of responses on Twitter.
