Though the Los Angeles Lakers have struggled this season and would not make the NBA Playoffs if the postseason started today, LeBron James has made it clear that he wants to work hard to get the Lakers into the playoffs and he thinks they can beat anybody if they make it. But for that to happen, he’ll have to be available.
This season, LeBron James has been the most vital part of the Lakers roster, leading the team with 30 points per game. And given his importance to the team’s success, he knows he has to play in as many games as he can down the stretch.
“I hope I can figure out a way to just make sure that I’m available on the floor every single night for these 23 games to give us a chance,” James said according to ESPN. “Give our group a chance to be able to compete every night and give ourselves a chance to win every night so we can give ourselves a chance to get into the postseason.”
James has already missed 14 games so far this season and even played through a lingering injury when he broke the NBA’s all-time scoring record, but he understands that he’ll have to be on the court as much as possible to help get this team to the playoffs. And he plans to do that.
“The most important thing for me right now is to maintain my health and be available to my teammates after this break, because we have to make a strong push if we want to do anything special,” he said.
