On Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James reached one of the most incredible milestones in his (ridiculously) decorated career.
Late in the second quarter, LeBron drained a free throw to give him 35,000 points scored in his career.
LeBron becomes just the third player in NBA history to reach 35,000 points, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387 career points) and Karl Malone (36,928 career points).
He’s also the fastest (1,295 games) and youngest (36 years old) player to accomplish the feat.
This doesn’t even include postseason scoring, where LeBron is already No. 1 at 7,491 points.
By the way, LeBron’s 35K points doesn’t include the postseason…@KingJames leads all playoff scorers, by a lot:
1) LeBron: 7,491
2) Jordan: 5,987
3) Kareem: 5,762
4) Kobe: 5,640
5) Shaq: 5,250 https://t.co/GUPsKkPRK6— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) February 19, 2021
LeBron scored 17 points in 17 first-half minutes, and had a smooth baseline fadeaway jumper that TNT got a great camera angle on.
The TNT camera got a great look at this beautiful LeBron baseline fadeaway.

At the remarkable level he’s still playing at, LeBron — who was also named to his 17th straight All-Star Game earlier in the day — has an excellent chance to reach the top of the scoring list.
