Just over a month ago, it appeared that LaMelo Ball’s remarkable rookie season had come to an end due to a fractured wrist. But Ball made a stunningly quick from the injury on Saturday night, and he looked like the same guy that he was before the injury.
Ball scored 11 points, dished out eight assists, pulled down seven rebounds, and blocked two shots in the Hornets’ 107-94 win over the Detroit Pistons.
And one assist Ball had was particularly incredible.
From the other free-throw line, Ball threw an underhand pass strike to Miles Bridges for a Hornets layup. This is an absurd play:
Ball’s return is great for the NBA, and it’s also huge for a Hornets team that is on the verge of clinching a spot in at least the Play-In (they’re two games back for the No. 6 seed that would secure a berth into the main playoff field).
