The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets 124-121 on Monday night in the bubble, with the game-winner coming in last-second fashion on a three-pointer from Kyle Kuzma.
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel drew up a gorgeous play setting up Kuzma for the shot, with the Denver defense understandably focused on guarding superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. With the game tied 121-121, Kuzma drained the three with just 0.4 seconds left on the clock.
Now, it’s important to note that the Nuggets didn’t go all-out with their starters in this game; 10 Denver players had more than 20 minutes of playing time, and Nikola Jokic led Nuggets starters with 26 minutes played. But the Lakers took advantage of the opportunity, and Kuzma (25), James (29), and Davis (27) all scored 25-plus points.
With the victory, the Lakers improve their Western Conference-best record to 52-18, while the Nuggets (third in the West) fall to 46-25.
