The Los Angeles Lakers are having a much better season than many people expected coming into the year. Los Angeles is sitting at third in the Western Conference due to their 43-26 record behind the trio of LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.
The Lakers’ role players are playing their parts in well, and one in particular, just had his strongest outing of his rookie season.
Bronny James, the son of LeBron who has been under intense scrutiny all season, went for 17 points on 7/10 shooting to go along with three rebounds and five assists, and a block. With Bronny emerging as a viable option moving forward, it appears the Lakers have deemed it necessary to part ways with two role players that never quite found their fit on the roster.
“REPORT: The Lakers are expected to waive Alex Len and Cam Reddish,” reported Legion Hoops early on Saturday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Since Reddick became coach Reddish ain’t got no pt. I wonder what he saw that makes him so unplayable?” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Alex Len should go and play volleyball. Mf doesn’t rebound, just spikes and taps the damn ball,” one fan added.
“Respectfully, Alex Len is the worst player I’ve ever seen put on a Laker uniform in my lifetime,” wrote someone else.
It’ll be interesting to see if Bronny’s role continues to expand as the playoffs unfold.
