On Sunday, a Los Angeles Lakers fan won $100,000 for making a half-court shot at Staples Center, and another Lakers fan did the same in January 2018. While $100,000 is certainly on the high end of prizes, most NBA teams offer pretty large prizes for fans making half-court shots.
Then there are the New York Knicks.
During a break in action for Friday night’s Knicks-Pelicans game at MSG, a fan nailed a half-court shot. He was rewarded with… $1,000 in scratchers.
Twitter had plenty of reactions for this prize that summarizes the Knicks’ franchise:

The Knicks also lost their game 123-111 to the Pelicans, dropping their record to a 10-29 (the third-worst mark in the NBA).
