After a rough two-year stretch that resulted in a combined 39-84 record, the Chicago Bulls fired head coach Jim Boylen. In an announcement by Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas, Boylen was “relieved of his duties” and the team states that a search for the next coach “will begin immediately.”
Another group who have been relieved of this news was Bulls fans. It’s never great to see someone lose their job but not many people liked Jim Boylen as head coach for the Chicago Bulls. He wasn’t great, the fans didn’t like him, the players didn’t like him, and the other teams didn’t like him. And somehow, based on how the Bulls were playing, he kept a job for nearly two years.
Anyway, when the news broke, there was pretty much a universal reaction that Bulls fans would welcome the news.

To borrow a quote from J. Peterman on Seinfeld, “Kudos Jim on a job, done.”
