There has been a lot of speculation around James Harden and whether or not he would re-sign with the Philadelphia 76ers when free agency gets underway.
Well, the good news is that he has indeed signed with the Sixers. The much more interesting news is that the team will now work with him on a trade.
“James Harden is opting into his $35.6 million deal for next season – in order for the 10-time All-Star and the 76ers to work together on a trade out of Philadelphia,” wrote NBA insider Shams Charania.
As for where Harden might get traded, it could get pretty interesting. According to one Philly insider, the Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest in acquiring the NBA All-Star.
There’s also been a lot of discussion around how Harden might want to return to Houston where he formerly played for the Rockets for many years.
The news that Harden and the Sixers are preparing for a trade led to some interesting reactions around the NBA world.
“Woah! This could change plans for a number of teams on the trade market,” said Trevor Lane.
“Better fit for James Harden: Clippers or Suns?” asked Kevin O’Connor.
“This man has requested 3 trades in 4 years,” said Silas P. Silas.
