The Golden State Warriors won their fourth NBA championship in 8 years on Thursday night when they defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 6.
They overcame a horrific start on Thursday night and proceeded to go on a 21-0 run in the second quarter to take a lead that they would never relinquish.
This championship helped solidify the Warriors’ status as a true dynasty, but it appears that even after a championship trophy, they may still have a Western Conference rival on their mind.
Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson revealed during the post-game press conference that he took exception to a tweet during the regular season from Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. with the caption “Strength in numbers”.
Thompson then proceeded to call Jackson a “bum” and a “clown” for that tweet.
Jackson’s All Star teammate Ja Morant certainly didn’t seem to appreciate Thompson’s comments regarding Jackson.
He tweeted Thursday night with the caption “Got a lot of real estate”, which seemed to be referring to Thompson’s comments on his teammate.
The Grizzlies ultimately lost in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs to Golden State in six games this postseason.
This made many around the world see this as Morant being a bit salty that Golden State went on to win the championship while Morant and his teammates are watching from home.
Lot of real estate in that empty Trophy Case too… https://t.co/TxVsnIpAf5

I love Ja but this ain't it…
They won and are where you want to be. They are popping championship bottles and you got Twitter fingers. Y'all talked and lost. They won and brought up receipts.
Take your L and move on like the rest of the league

Morant has been vocal after their elimination that if he hadn’t gotten injured in the series, things could have gone differently.
Nobody will ever know if that is the case or not, but it is clear that Morant is trying to make a bit of a rivalry with Golden State.
Memphis is certainly a team to watch moving forward in the Western Conference.
The team just extended head coach Taylor Jenkins to a multi-year deal and doesn’t have a player over 28 years old on their roster.
There is no telling how good the Grizzlies could become in the future, and there may be a point when they can overcome Golden State in the future.
