The Washington Wizards had an embarrassing performance on Monday night in Utah, losing 116-69 to the Jazz. That’s the second-biggest losing margin in Wizards history.
Just one day later, the Wizards had a much better showing on the road, and it was all thanks to Bradley Beal.
The shooting guard scored a career-high 51 points to lead the Wizards to a 106-92 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. Beal went 21-of-37 from the field and 5-of-12 from behind the arc.

The 51 points are the third-highest total in an NBA game this season, behind only LeBron James’ 57 points (vs the Wizards, actually) and James Harden’s 56 points. And it’s the first time someone has ever scored 51 points on the road against the Blazers.
Bradley Beal's 51 points are the most ever on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers. Amazing.

Beal may set a new career-high in the Wizards’ next game, which comes Thursday against a comically bad Phoenix Suns defense.
