After getting traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in February, DeMarcus Cousins made his return to Sacramento when the Pelicans played the Kings on Thursday night at Golden 1 Center. Boogie played in Sacramento for seven seasons and was a three-time All-Star.

And during player introductions, Kings fans gave Cousins a standing ovation.

Then the game happened, and Kings fans probably weren’t liking Cousins quite as much. Boogie went off for 41 points, 23 rebounds, and six assists in the Pelicans’ 114-106 win. He’s the first player in NBA history to score at least 40 points, pull down at least 20 rebounds, dish out at least five assists, and hit at least three three-pointers.

Anthony Davis missed this game due to a knee injury suffered in Portland on Tuesday, so the Pelicans really needed Boogie to carry the load on Thursday night, and he certainly delivered.
