The NBA, arguably more than any other sport, is always pitting the legacies of its greatest stars against each other to determine where the stars of the game stand relative to one another in the all-time rankings.

These days, the most popular comparison is between Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and former Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan. Now, one of the most prominent figures in sports media is weighing in, and he’s not painting a pretty picture of James’ standing.

“Michael’s richer, more memorable, bigger brand, and he makes you feel something, and LeBron doesn’t. LeBron has kinda bounced around to the best basketball opportunity every chance he gets,” said FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd.

Fans reacted to Cowherd’s take on social media.

“There’s a reason no one brings up Jordan without dragging LeBron or Kobe into the convo it’s because LeBron is the standard now. He’s 40 and still the face of the league. This ‘who’s bigger’ debate is over. Colin’s just talking to talk at this point,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“This argument just sounds forced now. Like any REAL sports and hoops fan not even doing this debate nomore. This for ppl like the talking heads who need filler content in the A Blocks of their dying shows. Niggas start talking about shit that don’t have nothing to do with playing ball lol, ” someone else added.

“Stopped listening to Cowherd when he said the Lakers should trade Anthony Davis for Jordan Poole,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if James is able to catch Jordan’s championship ring total of six before he retires.
