Carmelo Anthony thought he was fouled on a shot in the third quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, and he was ejected just seconds after arguing the no-call.
Anthony took contact from the Suns’ Jae Crowder on a jumper and didn’t get a foul call. As the Suns began their transition offense, Anthony began arguing with an official and was given a technical foul, his second of the night- that’s an automatic ejection.
Melo certainly has reason to be frustrated by that no-call and should be allowed to state his case without being tossed from the game.
The 10-time NBA All-Star finished the night with seven points — on 2-of-7 shooting from the field — in 16 minutes off the bench, and is averaging 13.5 points per game in his age-37 season.
