The Chicago Bulls fired head coach Fred Hoiberg on Monday, and promoted associate head coach Jim Boylen to lead the team.
And on Saturday night, the Bulls suffered the worst loss in franchise history in a 133-77 thrashing from the Boston Celtics at the United Center.
It’s also tied for the largest road victory in NBA history.
Earlier in the week, Boylen had the Bulls practice for two and a half hours the day after a game and had them run suicides, saying they’re poorly conditioned.
In Saturday’s loss, Boylen pulled the starters with over 20 minutes left, because he believed that practice on Sunday would be more beneficial to them than playing minutes in a game they were already going to lose.
And, that practice he’s referring to comes after the Bulls just played back-to-backs (they actually beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night).
Boylen had multiple five-man substitutions in the game.
And he referred to the team’s play as “embarrassing.”
The Jim Boylen era is sure to go smoothly and looks like another brilliant move from John Paxson, Gar Forman, and the Bulls’ c̶i̶r̶c̶u̶s̶ front office!
On the plus side for Bulls fans, hot dogs were thrown into the United Center crowd with “Who let the dogs out?” music playing while the Bulls were down 33 points.
#Bulls are down 33 points and there are free hot dogs being thrown into the stands during the timeout while "Who let the Dogs Out?" plays.
