Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo left fans watching the 2023 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday disappointed after he played only 20 seconds in the game. Giannis previously injured his wrist and on Monday, doctors evaluated him in New York.
According to ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, doctors diagnosed Antetokounmpo with a sprained ligament in his right wrist. He will undergo treatment. Giannis is reportedly expected to return to the lineup for Milwaukee once the pain from the injury subsides.
While this could mean that Antekounmpo could miss some time for the Bucks, it is positive that this doesn’t appear to be a long-term injury for the two-time MVP winner. Many around the NBA world are thrilled to hear that Giannis likely will be returning to the court soon for the Bucks.

Heading into the All-Star break the Milwaukee Bucks were undoubtedly the hottest team in all of basketball, riding a 12-game winning streak. That streak could be in jeopardy if Giannis misses time.
It can not be denied how important Giannis Antetokounmpo has been to the success of the Bucks this season. He is currently averaging a career-high 31.8 points per game along with 12.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists.
This expected absence for Giannis could certainly allow the top-seeded Boston Celtics to start to pull away with the top seed in the Eastern Conference, currently holding just a half-game lead over the No.2-seeded Bucks team.
