The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly interviewing former NBA player and coach Mark Jackson for their head coaching vacancy, and many fans wasted no time questioning the move.
Almost immediately after The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news Sunday, Twitter exploded with angry posts.
Jackson posted a .526 winning percentage in three seasons with the Golden State Warriors (2011-2014), but he stirred controversy there by making hateful comments about gay staff members. Since that head coaching stint, Jackson is best known for his longtime work as an NBA broadcaster with ABC and ESPN.
Jackson sparked controversy again last week when he left Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokić off his MVP ballot, something he attributed to an honest mistake.
Given his past controversial actions, NBA fans quickly pounced on the news about Jackson.

The Bucks fired head coach Mike Budenholzer earlier this month after the team fell to the No. 8 seed Miami Heat in the NBA Playoffs.
